‘...was given neither a juvenile hearing nor a juvenile detective.‘

Eric Carson is currently serving a 26-year prison sentence at Stateveille Correctional Center. Mr. Carson has been incarcerated since he was 16 years old, charged with First Degree Murder. He has been in prison for over ten years.

Eric Carson was prosecuted and wrongfully convicted in the case of a 16 year-old high school student who was beaten to death in an after school fight. Not only was he innocent, he was actually a friend of the victim. Mr. Carson was only 16 years-old at the time of his conviction and was given neither a juvenile hearing nor a juvenile detective.

Mr. Carson's trial was of high-profile, centering around urban violence. He was given substandard representation for such an affair. The State, as well as the Area Two Police Department, withheld evidence that could have exonerated Mr. Carson. There were also witness statements that prove Mr. Carson's innocence. Mr. Carson accepted a plea deal which he is now giving back to further fight for justice and to prove his innocence.
